Treatment Center, Inc. Administrative Office

While
Children’s Treatment Center, Inc. has been in operation
only since 2004, its origins are in a program that dates
to the early 1970s when it was operated as Children’s
Treatment Center, a service for children in the counties
of the State’s south central mental health region.
Children’s
Treatment Center was the first state supported
residential treatment center in North Carolina.
The program
remained under the administrative guidance of
Southeastern Regional Mental Health, Developmental
Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services until Mental
Health Reform required that the program be divested to
the private sector.
The
treatment model that had proven so successful over more
than three decades has been retained along with several
of staff with 20 or more years of service.
Treatment is provided to qualified children and youth
following a referral and application process, approval
by Value Options, and the commitment of the child, his
or her family, and a local mental health management
entity.
The
following information will help identify steps in the
application process:
Children between the ages of six and 18
may qualify for treatment.
An application may be obtained by the
child’s social worker, therapist or case
manager by calling 910 323-3771.
The application form describes all the
materials required for treatment
consideration.
An on-site interview and tour of the
facility is required for both the child
and his or her family and staff of the
referring organization.
We all wish for
good health and happy homes. We want our children to excel
at all they attempt. We all share the dream of happily
ever after.
When reality
challenges those dreams and confronts us with problems too
great to resolve on our own, Children’s Treatment Center,
Inc. is one option.
When your case
manager or therapist recommends out-of-home placement,
consider our experience and commitment to help your child or
youth reach his or her full potential and long term
well-being.
